POSTPONED to JUNE 4: Special Run: UIC, Pilsen, and Chinatown

June 4 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

We have postponed this special run due to inclement weather to Saturday, June 4th 2022.

Our next special run, set for Saturday June 4, will take us to the near southwest side for a tour that will include Pilsen (center of Mexican/Latino community) and Chinatown. We will meet at 9:00 am on the Washington and Wells L platform (east side) and take the Pink Line to Polk. The Washington / Wells station is served from the North Side by the Brown Line, and is also served by the Pink, Green, and Orange Lines. The Pink Line train runs every 12 minutes and the journey lasts about 13 minutes.

At Polk, we will meet anyone wishing to join us there and then head east through the UIC area, south to 18th street (Pilsen), and then east along 18th street to Halsted, then south on Halsted to Cermak, and then east on Cermak to Chinatown.  We will end at Chiu Quon Bakery & Dim Sum, 2253 S. Wentworth, for breakfast.  We will return from the Cermak-Chinatown station on the Red Line. As usual, significant points of local history will be noted along the way!

The total distance for runners will be about four miles. Walkers are welcome, but should plan a route so that they arrive at the restaurant at about 10:30 am. The regular walk/run at the Circle will also be held as usual.
