Chicago's LGBTQ+ Running & Walking Club

Proud to Run Chicago

Proud to Run 2020 officially canceled, fundraising for LGBTQ+ community to continue.

After careful consideration of all available options, the Proud to Run Board has made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Proud to Run race (originally slated for June 27, 2020). The health and safety of our participants and volunteers is our highest priority. This, along with the uncertainty facing summer events, made us determine that canceling the event was the most prudent course of action. Planning will now commence for Proud to Run’s 40th anniversary in 2021, tentatively scheduled for June 26, 2021.

We remain true to our mission: supporting organizations empowering the LGBTQ+ community in Chicago. Therefore, we will be continuing to raise funds this year. Organizations serving the LGBTQ+ community in Chicago are encouraged to apply, please see the application link below.

As always, we still encourage you to get outside and run in your neighborhood, practicing all the proper social distancing guidelines and other health and safety measures. We would love to see your pictures on social media – you can tag us the hashtag #ProudToRun2020, and we will repost and link to as many of our supporters as we can. We also encourage you to pass along and share our fundraising posts across your social media platforms to support our fundraising efforts!

Thank you all for your past participation and we look forward to running with you again next year!
