I wouldn’t consider myself a runner. I’m not going to be at the Totem pole when it’s raining or icy and cold, and I’m not going to run a marathon. I do enjoy running for fun, however, and I have been known to occasionally run a half-marathon. Frontrunners/Chicago has provided me with an outlet that helps me stay fit in a social setting. Everyone chooses their own distance and pace during our weekly fun runs on Saturday and Tuesday, and many of our members walk the course. I’ve found it’s a running club for every LGBTQA runner. I met many of my friends at Frontrunners/Chicago; men and women who care about the community, staying fit, and being part of a Chicago tradition.
